2017-2018 ‘Literary CUHK’ Essay Competition - Exhibition of Best Entries
Date: 19 November - 14 December, 2018
Venue: New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library
Statement: To raise the literacy level and cultural awareness of students, the Chinese Language Teaching Development Centre of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature (Chinese Department), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organised the third "Literary CUHK" essay competition. After nearly half a year of articles collection and review, we are pleased to announce that 24 participants were given the awards.
Winners of this year’s competition included students, alumni and research students from different faculties and departments, proven that literature does not fixate with any particular school or faculty and belongs to every one who deeply connects with CUHK. The award-winning articles described the nature beauty of CUHK, the scenic landscape of Tolo Harbour, reflection towards self and society......Writers of the competition not only illustrated the beauty and culture of CUHK, but also expressed their personal thought throughout the form of literature.

經過長約半年的徵稿到評審，共有廿四位參賽者獲得獎項。得獎者包括來自不同學院系的學生、校友、研究生等，可見「文學」不專屬於某一個學系，而是屬於每一位對中大校園有感受的人。得獎作品包含了中大的草木、吐露港的山水、到人生的自省、對社會的反思 ……同學以創作描寫了中大的山水人文，亦以文學承載了個人的感悟。

Late Reading Room of New Asia College Ch'ien Mu Library Open 24 Hours during Examination Period
From 9:30 p.m., November 22, 2018 to 9:00 a.m., December 22, 2018, New Asia College Ch’ien Mu Library will open its Late Reading Room on the lower ground floor of the Library building 24 hours daily during the examination period.
During this period, the University Security Unit will have officers patrolling the area at night to ensure the safety of the users and the good order of the Room.
新亞書院錢穆圖書館夜讀室考試期間24小時開放
自2018年11月22日晚上9時30分起至12月22日上午9時正，本館底層之夜讀室將於此考試期間每日24小時開放。
大學保安組將於晚間不時派員前來視察，以確保使用者之安全及夜讀室之良好。

Duo Solo Exhibition of Poon Yin Tung and Wong Ka Yi：Don’t wake the Sleepwalker

Statement: Who am I? Where am I? Who is trying to wake me up? Though the woken sleepwalker will not be scared to death, they would just be confused like ordinary people who woke up. For some cases, they might act violently due to the confusion. They open their eyes during sleepwalking. Not only can they walk freely, but also carry out habitual behavior. Since the brain is in dormant state, patient cannot distinguish any ongoing events. For example, inability in face recognition, no reaction to pain stimulation, talking to oneself without communication. We do not want to indulge in dreams. But who is stopping the sleepwalkers from wakening? Can the sleepwalkers wake themselves up? We integrated our life experiences through art making, and coping with our inner self and the world.

簡介: 我是誰？我在哪？誰把我弄醒了？ 被叫醒的夢遊者雖然不會驚嚇過度或吐沫身亡，但他們會和所有從熟睡中被叫醒的普通人一樣感到迷惑，甚至表現出暴力傾向。 夢遊時，他們雙眼睜開，不僅能自由行走還能做出習慣性行為。因為部分腦袋處於休眠狀態，所以患者在夢遊時無法對發生的事進行判斷，例如：無法識別人臉，對疼痛等刺激毫無反應，自言自語但又無法交流。 他們不甘沉醉於夢境。但究竟誰在阻止夢遊先生被吵醒？夢遊先生又能喚醒自己嗎？ 透過創作重新整合我們的生活經驗，建構面對自己內心與世界的方法。
